Role: Senior Corporate Counsel

Location: Telecommuting/remote from within the United States

The Development and Engineering Legal Team within Oracle’s legal department is responsible for providing legal support for all of Oracle’s software development and hardware engineering organizations worldwide. The team works closely with Oracle Development executives to complete agreements between Oracle and its strategic software and hardware suppliers and to evaluate and provide legal advice with respect to inbound software licensing, open source, AI/ML, etc. Counsel coordinates the efforts of various internal organizations to ensure that Oracle contracts and software licenses comply with company policies, and takes a leadership role in defining policies, practices, and procedures within the company.

As an individual contributor in the team, you will join a collaborative group of attorneys with an interesting and diverse technology law practice. This position is best suited to an attorney with a significant IP background, and commercial negotiating and contracting experience who has the ability to handle a variety of tasks, evaluate alternatives quickly, and provide top quality legal assistance and support to executive-level clients. Someone who can quickly make a significant contribution to the group is critical.

+ 4+ years of relevant legal experience that includes experience with inbound software, data licensing issues, Open Source, and AI/ML in a technology company.

+ Open Source licensing and AI/ML use are important.

+ Bar certified, in good standing, in a state in the US.

US: Hiring Range: from $120,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
