Our Summer Utility position in our Engineering Department will allow students to gain real job experience and receive on-the-job training that focuses on our technologies and methodologies in Engineering and gain real "on the floor" work in all production areas. Other duties as assigned when requested. The Engineering Summer Utility will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Essential Job Duties: The Engineering Utility will be able to work and learn the basic functions of an Engineering Department. The Summer Utility - Engineering will also be working in production areas on the floor as assigned. The production responsibilities are outlined below.

Deburring Chain Spreading Pintle Links Heat Auger Rings

Connector Cell Auger Helper Painting

Benching Chain Auger Run Outs Manual Press Machine

Assembly Machine Packing

Responsible for quality: Accept training in blueprint reading, use of gauges and measuring tools common to manufacturing, along with related statistical process control principles and other quality control procedures.

Engineering Program Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in one of the following majors: Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Metallurgical Engineering, or similar major.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 is required.
  • A minimum of 30 credit hours completed is preferred.
  • Must be a full-time student (12 semester hours) attending an accredited two or four-year university.
  • Must have experience serving in a leadership role(s) and working on team projects/activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership in academic or extra-curricular activities.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically experience with Access/Word/Excel/PowerPoint.


Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and complete necessary production forms. Ability to speak effectively with fellow employees and/or customers.
