Payroll Specialist
Summary of Responsibilities:
Process payroll for all Kodiak employees including but not limited to onboarding payroll documentation, payroll journal entries, payroll nexus and compliance, payroll audits. To work hand in hand with HR to ensure clear communication of needs and upcoming changes.

Job Description:

A Payroll Specialist will be a key role within the accounting team. This position will be a role that will focus on processing payroll for all Kodiak employees as well as maintaining a clean payroll environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Processing onboarding payroll related documentation
Proper processing of termination documentation and payment within the requirements of the individual State/local requirements
Payroll Journal Entries - creation from payroll system
Research, compliance and registration for payroll nexus in applicable States/Locals
Payroll audits (external and internal), including but not limited to 401(k), statutory, compliance
Work hand in hand with Human Resources to ensure clear communication to employee base
Creation and adherence with payroll and HR policies and procedures

Qualifications
Ability to work independently
Strong attention to detail
Strong written and verbal skills
General understanding of accounts receivable processing
Deadline driven with good time management skills
Strong excel skills
Experience with Dayforce/Ceridian a plus

Education and Experience Requirements:
3-5 years relative experience minimum
Ability to work in the US without sponsorship

Travel: TBD - I don't see this person travelling unless we have a team meeting that requires travel to one location rarely

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $20.43 to $44.52 per hour.
