JCFS Chicago is hiring Special Education Teachers at every grade level for the 2024-2025 school year. The Special Education Teacher plays a critical role in this process by prioritizing each student's development and growth through strong, supportive relationships and highly individualized academic and social emotional activities each day. This person will:
Develop and implement individualized curriculum and therapeutic programming in accordance with each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Track and record academic and behavior data to determine student progress.
Effectively manage and intervene in disruptive student behavior, both verbal and physical; including use of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) prescribed methods to de-escalate critical situations.
Requirements:
Must poses an Illinois Professional Educator License and Special Education endorsement (LBS1)
Must be able to successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Ukeru training and maintain the required credentials.

Compensation: the minimum compensation for this position is $62,450
