We are currently seeking candidates for a Maintenance HVAC Technician to join our team at Columbia Crest Winery in Paterson, WA.
The Eastern Washington Maintenance HVAC Technician performs a variety of specialized work to include troubleshooting, upgrades, repair and maintain all HVAC systems throughout the facility. The technician will have working knowledge of tools materials and documentation needed to perform these tasks. Under minimal supervision, this position ensures maximum operating efficiency to all systems and components. Performs preventive maintenance and inspection of equipment and systems in accordance with established internal safety procedures/protocols, OSHA standards, good manufacturing practices, FDA regulations and industry best practices.

Maintenance HVAC Technician job responsibilities include:
Assist with planning layouts, installation of mechanical equipment and safety systems
Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows regulatory compliance, industry standards and GMP's
Initiate and participate in project related discussions intended to increase and enhance overall equipment and production efficiencies across the site.
Actively promotes preventative maintenance strategies to prevent unplanned breakdowns or repairs
Understand and apply safe work practices related to electrical and mechanical work. Some examples would include: LOTO, elevated work, confined space, ARC flash, hot work, electrical regulations, and safety procedures set by our Environmental Health and Safety Department.
Document all work in a work order management system (CMMS) with abilities to write work requests, parts request, follow work order directions, complete work orders, and communicate effectively with a maintenance planner and supervisor electronically.
Read blueprints, electrical schematic's, line diagrams and process control diagrams.
Trains lesser skilled technicians and guides maintenance team on maintenance best practices
Attends company provided and vendor training in-house and off-site.
Instrument calibrations
Performs other duties as assigned.
Previous experience to include:
Advanced knowledge of Control Logix's, RS networks, and Factory Talk programming software./ Working knowledge of a work order management system (CMMS) with abilities to write work requests, parts request, follow work order directions, complete work orders, and communicate effectively with a maintenance planner and supervisor electronically. Preferred familiarity with JD Edwards Enterprise One.
Mechanical ability to use meters such as VOM, Amp and other test equipment needed for preventive maintenance of equipment.
Working knowledge and experience with VFDs, electrical motors, process controls (PLCs), lighting, Alarm systems, fire systems, intercoms, and network wiring.
Experience with thermal imaging, meters, and other test equipment needed for preventive maintenance
Knowledge in heating and refrigeration principals.
Minimum 5-7 yrs experience in a winery or food processing/packaging facility or similar environment involving the responsibilities as outlined above.
Ability to perform calculations needed for operation related to volumes, square feet, flow rates, and thermal loads.
Ability to perform pipefitting, soldering, and brazing
Experience in HVAC Trouble shooting or repair.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Position Requirements:
High School Diploma required. Technical school coursework preferred.
EPA Universal Certification ( Preferred )
Walk, stand, bend/stoop, squat, kneel, climb, twist, push heavy objects, pull/jerk objects, work at heights, waist and below waist level, lift to 50 lbs.
Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot problems using those schematics.
Ability to work independently maintaining a positive working relationship in a team environment.
Ability to work extended hours during harvest & peak periods to include rotating shift work and supporting additional locations in Eastern Washington.
Your Compensation:
