Summary: This role is part of the Shared Services Accounting team, which is based out of Great Wolf's Corporate Headquarters located in Chicago, IL. Responsibilities of this role include participating in the month end close and related transaction processing, reviewing and verifying the accuracy of financial statement accounts, and performing complex reconciliations of general ledger accounts.

Responsibilities:
Coordinate monthly general ledger close with other accountants
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
Ensure proper cut-off and accounting for assigned accounts
Prepare financial statements and schedules for internal reporting
Compile schedules to be used by outside auditors in their reviews and year-end audit
Assist with establishing, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures
Assist with monthly flux analyses
Utilize computer applications to compile, retrieve, and summarize accounting information for analyses and reporting purposes
Review compliance or coordinate accounting matters with other departments and locations as necessary
General support on various projects as needed

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required and at least two years of relevant experience required
Strong demonstrated accounting and analytical experience
Demonstrated attention to detail - able to complete tasks with high level of accuracy
Demonstrated skill in completing and recording financial transactions. Able to aid in developing information for financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations
Strong proficiency in using accounting software and other applicable financial software
Strong demonstrated skills in Microsoft Excel-macros, v-lookups, and pivot tables
High level of organization and ability to manage to deadlines
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
Ability and wiliness to work from Great Wolf's Chicago Corporate Headquarters on a hybrid-schedule (M/Fr optional remote work, T/W/Th in-office)

Prior experience in Shared Service Center is highly desirable
