Under general direction, the Building Control Systems Designer is responsible for the design, configuration, and operation of comprehensive building control systems. This includes fire, security, and various low voltage control sub-systems (such as lighting, nurse call, and data networks) to meet specific project requirements. This position involves developing complex software programs, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure the proper operation of building control systems. Additionally, the role requires providing detailed information and submittals to effectively communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, the field installation team, and subcontractors. The role ensures quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs, providing crucial support to field teams.

Systems Engineer Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design, configure, and operate complete building control systems, including fire, security, and low voltage sub-systems
- Ensure that designs meet project requirements and standards
- Develop and commission complex software programs to ensure proper system operations
- Troubleshoot and solve issues related to building control systems
- Provide detailed information and submittals for customers, consultants, installation teams, and subcontractors
- Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical audiences
- Maintain accountability to field teams for the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related role
- Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry
- Understanding of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems
- Experience integrating low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (e.g., LON, BacNet)
- Ability to convey technical knowledge to non-technical stakeholders
- Advanced computer skills, particularly with computer-related drafting tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in drafting and design software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
