POSITION TITLE: Kids' Zone Attendant
LOCATION/DEPT: Kroc Center
REPORTS to (TITLE): After School & Day Camp Counselor
The Kids' Zone Attendant will ensure the safety and well-being of children that are being cared for in the Kids' Zone area while their parents are participating in classes.

PRIMARY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure a safe environment for children within the Kids' Zone.
Adhere to the check in and check out policy for children.
Maintain readiness and cleanliness of the Kids' Zone area by cleaning equipment, toys, and play areas as determined by Policy and Procedures.
Make sure toys are appropriate and clean.
Ensure no small parts in the under 3 area.
Respond to emergencies or accidents, filling out incident reports as needed.
Follow child-adult ratio.
Follow Safe From Harm guidelines.
Report any suspicion of child abuse to Director.
Ensure an enriching environment.
Encourage children to play with a variety of materials.
Provide stimulating materials.
Encourage active play and interactive play with other children.
Interact with children on their level.
Ensure a welcoming & friendly environment.
Greet parents and children enthusiastically by name.
Be sensitive to children who are apprehensive, shy or scared.
Interact professionally with all contacts, as required, with the general public, parents/guardians, business community, Salvation Army Officers, and Kroc Center staff.
Provide information and answer questions about all programs and activities available at the Kroc Center.
Answer and direct all incoming calls to the appropriate department.
When children depart, say good bye by name.
Work in a cooperative manner with the other staff of the RJKCCC programs, discussing any problems that may be occurring with the Director.
Other related duties as assigned by the Director.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma required, 2 years of college preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Must have two years of experience working with children and infants.
Have or be able to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid certification within the first 30 days of employment.
Be at least 18 years old.
COMPENTENCIES
Good understanding of childhood development and children's needs.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, using diplomacy and good judgment.
An attention to detail.
A positive attitude and the ability to be flexible in light of changing job situations/priorities.
Flexible and enjoys working as a team.
Computer knowledge helpful but not necessary.
A willingness to promote the mission of The RJKCCC.
