What to Expect

Schedule: Days Monday-Friday 7:00 AM -3:30 PM (rotates W/E on call)

As a Med Lab Scientist, you'll get to:

  • Perform high complexity testing in immunohematology, including antibody identification, antigen typing, absorptions, elution, and crossmatch.
  • Provide technical support to hospital transfusion services.
  • Review and report test results, participate in investigative studies, participate in quality control, preventative maintenance, and validations.
  • Conduct training, observations, competency assessments and documentation.
  • Participate in technical investigative studies.



Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, medical technology or clinical laboratory science required.
  • Must satisfy CLIA equivalent for high complexity testing required.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist or Blood Banking Technologist (BB) by a recognized certifying agency required.
  • Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) preferred.
  • Three years of laboratory testing experience required.
  • One year of Reference Lab/IRL experience preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a lead or charge capacity required.
