Job Description

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Docket Specialist for the Intellectual Property Patent Support Unit. This position will be responsible for maintaining the Patent computerized docket system and will be supervised by the Regional Manager of Patent Support Services. This position will also have daily contact with and receive guidance from all of the attorneys and staff in the practice group for whom this individual provides support.

This position can reside in any of the following offices: Boston, MA; Century City, CA, Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX, Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA, Orange County, CA; Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; Silicon Valley, CA; Washington, DC with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates all areas of the CPI database including:

All information pertaining to each specific application and docket due dates, and remarks,

Incoming domestic and foreign client related communications,

Incoming Patent and Trademark Office communications filed in the Patent office.

Processing delivery of incoming electronic communications pursuant to departmental procedures.

Providing docket, status, and maintenance reports to patent personnel and attorneys as requested.

Experience/Qualifications:

Minimum of one year of docketing experience or equivalent knowledge of patent processes

High school diploma.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).

Strong attention to detail and organization skills.

The ability to work well under pressure and participate in a team environment are required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

Flexibility to work overtime preferred.

The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position" and the firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, firm or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
