Role Summary

Assists and supports the organization in assessing and reporting significant financial and schedule risks to the project. This role is critical in identifying those project elements that may present a risk in completing the project within the established budget and accompanying schedule. In addition, there may be political implications and perceived risks observed by the relative stakeholders.
A certain level of risk is inherent to any major capital program. The intent of risk management is to recognize and mitigate the level of exposure the owner potentially absorbs. The Sr. Lead, Risk Management role is also responsible for considering the financial implications of any and all project activities.
The Sr. Lead, Risk Management is also responsible for understanding and complying with the applicable government regulations and/or regulatory agencies. This individual performs evaluation of internal operations, controls, communications, risk assessments and maintenance of documentation as related to the project and regulatory compliance and recommends appropriate changes. In addition, the Risk Manager may conduct and facilitate internal and external audits to identify, evaluate, disclose and appropriately remedy risks and deficiencies. Coordinates the preparation of and may prepare document packages for regulatory submissions for the project and internal and external audits and inspections. May serve as point of contact for interactions with regulatory agencies for defined matters.
Responsibilities

Responsible for managing and coordinating risk on the project.
Manage project risk log in collaboration with key project management personnel
In concert with project management, conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats and opportunities related to the construction project.
Collaborate with senior project management personnel, including project team members, project managers, engineers, and contractors, to gather input on potential risks.
Analyze identified risks to determine their potential impact on project objectives.
Assess the likelihood and severity of each risk and prioritize them based on their significance.
Formulate a detailed risk management plan outlining strategies for risk mitigation, acceptance, or transfer.
Collaborate with relevant teams to integrate risk management into overall project planning.
Regularly communicate risk-related information to project stakeholders, ensuring transparency and awareness.
Prepare and present comprehensive risk reports to project leadership, highlighting key risk factors and proposed mitigation measures.
Implement risk mitigation strategies as outlined in the risk management plan.
Work closely with project teams to monitor and control identified risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide training and guidance to project team members on risk management principles and best practices.
Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in risk management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related subject and a minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible construction industry experience.
