Position Title: Operations Manager
Location: Highland, IL
Position Summary: The Operations Manager for Schantz Manufacturing, a division of Craftsmen Industries, Inc., is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations in this growing facility focusing on custom manufacturing of concession trailers for the fair and festival industry. Main duties include developing and implementing process improvement plans, resolving operational problems, and preparing operational budgets. The role requires close collaboration with all departments to ensure smooth production and facility management. Manages the day-to-day operations, develops, and implements process improvement plans, resolves problems and prepares operation budgets.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Ensures safe operations and advances safety for all employees and customers.
• Establishes operation standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
• Manages all operational aspects to ensure safety of our associates.
• Directs implementation and execution of manufacturing policies and practices throughout the organization.
• Implements operational strategies as well as recommends strategic changes in manufacturing and operations.
• Plans work and project sequences to meet project deadlines and cost estimates.
• Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
• Oversee operations budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.
• Provides a work environment that generates positive energy, creativity, and teamwork among associates and across functions.
• Develops and maintains key metrics (i.e. safety, warranty, on-time delivery, etc.).
• Proactively manages direct labor.
• Implements division specific quality assurance programs.
• Directs and manages compliance programs.
• Directs plant maintenance.
• Assists, builds, and develops an efficient Production team through hiring, training, coaching, and leadership.
• Works closely with Human Resources to ensure future growth of the company.
• Works side by side with Sales/Account Executive on projects, and handling customers and concerns.
• Evaluates performance of direct reports.
