Your responsibilities
Summary:
The Gauging Engineer position is an essential part of maintaining and exceeding expectations within the thyssenkrupp Quality Management System. Gauging Engineers provide mechanical and administrative gauging services plant wide, including but not limited to maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, calibration, Gauging and Measuring Plans, organizing of spare parts and liaising with OEMs on all issues pertaining to gauges. Actively participates in a team environment to maximize production efficiencies in producing a zero-defect product. This position requires a strong commitment to safety.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, a successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education: Gauging Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in a technical field. Quality experience preferred. Automotive experience preferred.
Sr. Gauging Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in a technical field plus 4-6 years of industry-related experience required.
Language: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Technology: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. SAP experience preferred.
Travel: Occasional travel, up to 10% including international
Other: IATF 16949, 8-D Analysis, APQP, PPAP, Control Plan, FMEA, SAP, and root-cause analysis experience preferred.

Key Deliverables:
The Gauging Engineer serves as an engaged and trusted source in the organization. Success in this role is measured by meeting SQDC, departmental, and/or company specific KPI's. Key deliverables to ensure success are listed below:
Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
Monitors calibrations and Measurement System Analysis records with software database.
Participates in internal and external audits.
Participates and coordinates any gauging functions needed for part approval, special runs, or prototype builds.
Program and maintain gauging strategies throughout the plant.
Organizes and administers internal and external training programs for the Gauge Group in coordination with the Quality Lab and Gauging Supervisor. Training programs will include.
Technical skill and knowledge workshops.
On-the-job coaching and mentoring.
Plans and implements Gauge Group cross training throughout the plant to promote improved capability, process knowledge and experience.
Drives Gauge Group capability for Preventative Maintenance and Total Predictive Maintenance (hereafter referred to as PM and TPM).
Coordinates with the Production Cell Teams, Controls Group and Mechanical Group to organize technical resources and materials, and to direct repair activities for production equipment using Work Orders.
Coordinates with the Production Cell Teams to implement approved Continual Improvement ideas submitted by Work Order.
Works closely with other Operations Staff to facilitate and participate in Program Management projects, Lean Manufacturing activities and facility improvements.
Works closely with Quality, Production, and Process Engineering staff to improve safety, quality and performance.
Reports out to the Quality Manager or Control Supervisor such information as is required on a weekly or monthly basis, or by request to the wider... For full info follow application link.
