Description:

The Coordinator for K-12 Programs will support the K-12 Unit of Pritzker Tach Talent Labs and serve a crucial role in the recruitment of participants and implementation of programs and initiatives tailored to individuals enrolled in DPI's student programs. The Coordinator will assist with the recruitment process which includes but is not limited to tabling at events and conducting student interviews. The Coordinator will help to ensure all logistical elements of program implementation are in place and facilitate a welcoming environment for students at DPI. The designated supervisor of this position is the Assistant Director of Recruitment.

The Coordinator for K-12 Programs is responsible for aiding the recruitment of students and implementing programs that successfully support students on their educational journey through computer science and tech fields of study, including summer and year-round programs. This position will collaborate with internal staff, academic and industry partners.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Support the K-12 Unit in recruitment, program implementation and logistics for our suite of youth programs as part of the Pritzker Tech Talent Labs (PTTL).
Assist with recruitment efforts for all K-12 programs, including tabling at local events, high school visits, create and sustain partnerships with Community Based Organizations and conducting interviews.
Support the planning and day-to-day implementation of K-9 Programs which are Saturday programs that take place during the academic year, targeting middle school, ninth and tenth grade students.
Support the planning and day-to-day implementation of our Digital Scholars Program, an intensive summer pre-college program which aims to build a deeper and more diverse pool of students pursuing computing and technology-related fields in Illinois.
Support the implementation of other year-round programs, that may encompass half-day workshops, virtual and in-person learning sessions, networking events, mentorship activities, and other learning activities designed to engage students on a journey into CS and tech pathways.
Classroom and program management duties include, but are not limited to:
Tracking attendance
Assisting with equipment and/or supplies distribution
Contacting parent/guardian(s) regarding any concerns (eg: absences, illness, work, etc.).
