Part-time Faculty Positions

DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding. Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.

College/School: School of Continuing and Professional Studies  Responsibilities:

The School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) at DePaul University is accepting applications from those interested in a part-time opportunity to teach a course in project management. The course addresses project initiation, planning, implementation and assessment, using analytic techniques and computer information systems to project risk and formulate contingency plans to minimize that risk.
This DePaul teaching assignment requires one evening a week on site at the College of Lake County (CLC) campus in Grayslake, Illinois and the potential for fully online teaching.
This position begins with the course scheduled to start the first week of January 2024.
SCPS serves both adult and traditional age students, underserved populations, and provides flexible learning formats and scheduling to meet student needs. The school focuses on lifelong learning skills, including writing, critical thinking, research and career development throughout its a multi-disciplinary curriculum. SCPS courses are facilitated online, on campus, evenings and weekends, and through a variety of hybrid combinations including both synchronous and asynchronous variations. Required Qualifications:
A master's degree, Ph.D. or terminal degree in a related field and relevant experience is required.
Experience teaching at the college level is desirable, but not required. Special Instructions to Applicants:
Part-time teaching opportunities are available including online, hybrid, and on-campus throughout the academic year. Applicants with expertise that matches course scheduling needs, demonstrated successful teaching experience, and appropriate, verified qualifications will be contacted for an interview. Academic course schedules fluctuate from quarter to quarter and the school will work with selected individuals to determine a quarterly schedule. Courses are not guaranteed; however, the school does its best to give ample notice about available courses and potential course cancellations. Online courses are taught using the Desire2Learn (D2L) learning management system.
