Job Description
Description We are in search of a dedicated Cyber Security Engineer to join our team located in Lombard, Illinois. The role involves ensuring the security of our IT systems, with a focus on identifying and resolving vulnerabilities. The successful candidate will be working in a 5-day on-site environment initially, which may transition to a partial remote setup after trust is established.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and prioritizing high priority tickets in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Conducting regular checks on various sites for any vulnerabilities.
- Evaluating vulnerability scores of devices and creating an overall picture of their security status.
- Collaborating with the server team to remediate any high-risk vulnerabilities identified.
- Sending regular updates to end users about security measures and potential threats.
- Exhibiting flexibility and team player mentality, willing to assist in areas beyond direct responsibilities.
- Demonstrating proficiency in Service Now, Server 2010-2012, Windows 7, 10, and Microsoft Office 365.
- Utilizing skills in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Cisco Routers, Cisco Technologies, Computer Hardware, Configuration Management, Design, Eigrp, Firewall Technologies.
- Maintaining an understanding of corporate security, with a background of 1-3 years in IT. Requirements – Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or in a related role.
- Proficient in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Cisco Routers, and Cisco Technologies.
- Solid understanding of computer hardware and configuration management.
- Demonstrated experience in design and Eigrp.
- Expertise in Firewall Technologies is essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team as well as independently.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Must possess relevant certifications in cyber security.
- Commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements and best practices in cyber security.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions quickly.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality.
- Willingness to participate in continued education and detail oriented growth opportunities.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proven track record of detecting and protecting against cyber threats.
