Job Description
What's the role?A Security Engineer Intern is a new technology professional who functions as a member of a technical team at HERE. The person in this role will observe and participate in the team's operations, seeking to contribute productively where possible, but principally to learn about the team's business objectives and methods of achieving them in preparation for a future full-time entry level role.
The candidate's primary responsibility is to help Product Security team members in one or more of the following topics:
• Apply agile development practices to rapidly deliver incremental improvements to Product Security capabilities, such as improvement of security scanners and improvement of our continuous dependency scanning
• Secure CI/CD pipelines by applying mitigations mentioned in OWASP's top 10 for CI/CD pipelines
• Support development teams in taking advantage of our External Library Management capabilities
• Support development teams in using the various security scanners in GitLab
• Collaborate with other teams in the Trust organization (open source, privacy engineering, vulnerability management, IAM, trust assurance...)
Who are you?
• Has completed (anticipated within the next 1 year) an aligned Associate or Bachelor degree curriculum such as Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, etc.
• Comfortable working in virtual meetings (videoconference or over the phone), sustaining focus and seeking to engage with a team to solve problems
• Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with technical personnel (developers and engineers).
Prior work experience in a professional office environment
• Experience with a programming or scripting language such as Python
• Exposure to Identity and Access Management protocols/standards (SAML or OAuth or OpenID Connect)
• Theoretical knowledge of Cloud access management frameworks, especially AWS IAM
• Work- or Study-abroad experience to aid collaboration with internationally distributed, multi-cultural teams
