This customer-facing, inside sales position will process sales and inquiries online, by phone, and in person in our new Des Plaines, IL location. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Operations, will cultivate and promote "Steadfast Reliability" and great customer experiences with a best-in-class image.
RESPONSIBILITES:
* Promote and generate sales of building material supplies and construction equipment via various sales techniques, including cold calling.
* Greet walk-in customers to our new showroom and provide customer support.
* Assist customers through qualifying their product and equipment needs and ensure fulfillment.
* Answers customer inquiries via phone, email, and walk-in business concerning price, qualifying product and construction equipment needs, and partnering with vendors for support as needed.
* Communicate with Business Development Representatives on customer orders, requirements, problems concerns, and changes.
* Generate, place, and confirm purchase orders with suppliers.
* Enters sales data and sales orders into Company ERP and Salesforce.com
* Accurately completes all required paperwork (e.g., coding, costing, pricing) daily.
* Follow all administrative and accounting-related procedures.
* Maintains current price documentation and product literature as it becomes available.
* Keeps product knowledge current to evolving building supply and equipment vendors.
* Develop meaningful customer relationships to encourage loyalty and grow sales internally.
* Make outgoing calls to educate our customers on current promotions.
* Set and meet sales goals and objectives established by company leadership.
* Document sales, quotes or other business-requested information.
* Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
* Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
* Participate in the physical inventory counts of warehouse materials.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong verbal and written communication skills including sales presentation
* Previous experience in sales, customer service, or a related field
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong ability to multitask and manage time effectively
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment
* Proficient in basic computer programs and MS Office
