Human Resources is staffed with 30 employees.
Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, the position will play a crucial role in supporting recruitment efforts by using various resources and strategies to ensure a steady pipeline of diverse talent, working closely with the talent acquisition team and hiring managers to understand position requirements and develop effective sourcing strategies, and promote Metra as an employer of choice.
The primary duties include: Collaborate with recruiters and hiring managers to understand job requirements and develop tailored strategies to source a diverse qualified talent pool. Utilize various resources including on-line job boards, resume databases, social media platforms, networking events, and employee referrals to identify and source potential candidates. Conduct initial screenings to assess candidate qualifications, skills, and experience. Engage with candidates through email, phone calls, and social media to gauge interest and establish rapport. Maintain accurate up-to-date candidate records in the agency's applicant tracking system. Provide timely updates and reports on sourcing activities, including candidate pipeline status and progress. Promote safe work practices and maintain and foster a safe work environment. Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Candidates can expect salary offers that range from the minimum to the mid-point of the salary range. Metra provides full pay ranges so candidate can consider their growth potential.
Metra is a railroad employer subject to the provisions of the Railroad Retirement Tax Act, not the Social Security Administration.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources, or in lieu of degree, any combination of education and experience may be substituted for the required degree that equals four years in Human Resources.
In addition to #1 above, must have five years of sourcing, recruiting, or talent acquisition experience.
Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems.
Considerable knowledge of recruiting fundamentals including, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and candidate assessment.
Considerable knowledge of talent acquisition strategies and best practices in developing effective sourcing techniques.
Considerable knowledge of how to evaluate candidate qualifications in line with job requirements.
Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient using applicant tracking systems.
Skill using platforms such as LinkedIn and Indeed to source both active and passive candidates.
Skill in building rapport and maintaining relations with candidates.
Skill conducting Boolean searches to locate ideal candidates.
Ability to recruit for all levels of the organization.
Ability to take initiative, be flexible, and prioritize and manage multiple assignments.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
Must be available to work flexible hours in the early morning, late afternoon, evenings, or weekends.
Preferred:
Experience using Applicant Tracking System Cadient.
