Job Description Summary

 

The AVP Procurement Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and management to the Procurement team. Advises and coordinates team efforts to completion; answers questions functioning as the expert resource; maintains assignment completion schedules while delivering monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and assists in the development of the annual budget. Responsibilities include problem solving while following established internal financial controls and policies and is able to perform the same tasks as others within the team and has back-ups are in place to ensure uninterrupted support of business. Trains, develops, coaches and mentors team members, including conducting performance evaluations on a timely basis.

 

What Youll Do

  • Subject-matter expert for buying team, guiding and directing activities and projects of the team. Directs team of Buyer personnel through daily management to improve hardware and software availability and prevent service disruptions, while optimizing inventory levels.
  • Maintains and executes standard work of established purchasing policies and procedures to assure economic utilization of people and equipment. Works in conjunction with VP of Payables to continuously improve processes. Serves as a first level of escalation for Buyers team or other cross functional personnel for critical issues, decisions, and direction required to perform daily functions.
  • Works with other departments in the Wintrust organization to understand equipment and services demands and forecast purchase requirements to meet business purchasing/budgeted demands, including but not limited to: a) hardware and software purchases; b) contracted salaries; c) software licenses; d) data processing charges; and e) intercompany allocations.
