About the Position: Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist in a staff capacity, as an analyst, coordinator, and/or project officer in support of ammunition logistics operations across the United States. Responsibilities Provides status of projects, unusual problems being encountered, and Command impact of newly developed projects Represents the Command at meetings and contact with higher headquarters, other Commodity Commands, and other Dept. of Defense (DOD) elements and private industry. Presents, coordinates, and/or develops briefings to Command Group on new and existing mission assignments and analysis of on-going performance. Analyzes proposed future missions, ensures interface with affected Command/installation organizations, and is in consonance with the short-term and long-term goals of the organization on all new concepts and improvements Provides management advice on unprecedented problems and assumes responsibility for end products. The specialist performs special studies relative to ammunition operations, production and stockpile management, and overall industrial base strategies. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising with resolving problems related to ammunition operations; performing analysis of programs in support of ammunition logistic operations; and experience in program management that may include receipt, storage, issue, transportation or inventory. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone—no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information Management Planning and Evaluating Problem Solving Program/Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
