Summary:
The Data Manager, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) works with the department to provide oversight of the data conversion process and data sets for all CQI registries and special projects. This role focuses on data quality, data validations and security ensuring all registry data meets regulatory requirements. The position will work with the incumbents to update data structures, incorporate new variables in reports and support new projects. This position will understand and incorporate variables from data collection all the way through the process to reporting. It will also perform scheduled data imports, replication, validation, and exports.
This exempt position will report to the Senior Manager, CQI in the Division of Research and Optimal Patient Care. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work with ACS registry and IT teams and external registry vendor(s) to ensure data marts are operating correctly and efficiently to meet program and participant needs.


Continually evaluate and analyze operations related to data collection and management and make recommendations for improvements and modifications to ensure optimum functioning of the databases, including data automation.|


Oversee the creation of data sets and dissemination of those data sets for ad-hoc reporting and high-level statistical reporting. Evaluate raw data to find issues with data integrity and data quality.


Manage data collection, data processing, data validation, and warehousing for all CQI clinical registries, and work with internal resources and registry vendor(s) to ensure processes and methods use meet internal and external security and privacy standards.


Update and implement Data Quality Assurance Plan. Work with team members to implement data quality checks for reports.

Required Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.


At least 4+ years of similar data management experience is preferred. A high understanding and background in ETL, data architecture and creating reporting data tables is required.


Must have Oracle database experience to independently code SQL and PL/SQL to create database objects such as tables, materialized views, triggers, procedures, packages, etc.


Must be familiar with the extract, transform, load (ETL) processes, data marts, data analysis, security, and performance tuning.


Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent organizational skills.


Experience in handling healthcare specific data such as PHI for HIPAA compliance a plus.


Experience in data visualization, particularly in Power BI, Looker or other business intelligence tools is preferred.


Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Sharepoint, Outlook, and Teams, and able to quickly learn new data platforms/applications.
