Job Description
A position is available for an Engineer - Geostructural Design Engineer (Chicago) with Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. located in Chicago, Illinois.
The Engineer - Geostructural Design Engineer (Chicago) position will be primarily responsible for providing technical engineering design and analysis for foundation design for offshore and onshore structures, ground improvement analysis and other geotechnical engineering projects.
Candidates for this position should have a Master’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Soil Mechanics Engineering or related field; 1 year experience as a Geotechnical Engineer, Geotechnical Engineering Research, or Geotechnical Engineering Teaching Assistant; 1 year experience planning and coordination of geotechnical site investigation and characterization, including soil sample evaluation, in situ geotechnical testing, and laboratory geotechnical testing; 1 year experience performing geotechnical engineering analyses including assessment of foundation bearing capacity and settlement, global slope stability, and earth retention design; 1 year experience working with finite element software (2-D and 3-d) for simulation of geo-structural systems; 1 year experience with performing or interpreting advanced triaxial tests and index geotechnical testing on soils; and 1 year experience with geostructural construction oversight.
