Job Description

This Opportunity:
The Safety Coordinator is an entry-level Safety Professional position and is responsible for assisting in administering job site safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role will report to a Safety Manager or Senior Safety Manager.

The Project Safety Coordinator must be a reliable agent of timely delivering and implementing Health and Safety objectives and accountability; and managing relations between Health and Safety and Project Teams, Field Installation Teams, and Subcontractors.

What You Will Do:
* Maintains an active on-site where work is happening presence conducting daily safety inspections, site walks and documentation audits, toolbox talks, and verifying overall site safety.
* Works daily with Field Installation Teams, Subcontractors, and Site Leadership to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
* Assists in identifying, documenting, and controlling hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions
* Coordinates implementation of Pre-Task Planning (PTP), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and safety procedures and best practices.
* Provides administrative safety support and record-keeping; including data entry and documents organization, maintaining training records and matrices, and Safety Performance tracking.
* Prepares appropriate forms, templates and other materials to support the Safety Management, the project safety needs, and to meet customer, federal, state, and local regulations and compliance.
* Maintains PPE and safety-related inventory and equipment, tracking and distribution; and inspecting safety requirements of inventory and equipment introduced to the site.
* Provides guidance, training (incl. onboarding orientations) and coaching to field staff, project teams, contractors, and visitors to ensure execution of safety program with applicable regulations and to be in accordance with company and customer needs.
* Conducts incident investigations, root cause analysis, emergency response, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
* Acts as a liaison between Field Installation Teams and the Safety Team Project Management Team.
* Maintains regular scheduled communication and reporting to Safety Management, maintaining active cadence on all Health and Safety matters pertaining to the project.
* Reviews any changes or deviations to Safety management processes, tasks, or form revisions with the Safety Management and appropriate team members.

Needs for Success:
* Knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations and Safety standards.
* Follow through; always sees tasks to completion, follows-up and closes loop on all open items.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for this role.
* Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of personnel including upper management, clients, other craft partners and vendors.
* Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
* Willingness to work days, nights and weekends as project requires.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Self-motivated Team player with excellent work ethics.
* Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.) and MS Project.
Education, Experience and Certifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* 0 - 3 years of Construction Safety experience.
* OSHA 30 Certification required.
* Current CPR / First Aid Certification required.

Work Location and Travel:
This position is an on-site based role and is generally expected to require minimal overnight travel. The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The standard work environment for this position is a construction environment, data center environment, and an indoors business office.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may also be required to work in tight, confined spaces.
