Duties and Responsibilities 
 Job Summary:

 

We're looking for a talented and energetic Human Resources Manager to join our team at Loyola University, Chicago. The HR Manager coordinates effortsas a business partner to support operations and business initiatives of assigned schools and divisions. The HR Manager is responsible for recruiting, employee relations, labor relations, performance, and talent management. Also coaches and develops leaders to deliver people management capabilities, provides organizational insights to make the best decisions, and mitigates operational risk.

This position is located on site.


What Your First 30 Days Will Look Like: 
Introductions to our wonderful HR team!
Self-driven interactions with departmental leadership and department employees to strengthen HR operations within each department.
Understanding Loyola's powerful mission and rich community partnerships.


Once You Find Belonging at Loyola:
Provide coaching to department leaders on recruiting practices, performance and talent management strategies, and effective management of employee relations.
Leading employee relations investigations from employees, supervisors, or the Ethics Line and labor relations bargaining for multiple departments.
Promote DEI by implementing protocols to ensure our recruitment and hiring practices are inclusive.
Acting as a business partner to the HR team and Vice President of HR to succeed university goals.
Assist with the development of policies and procedures regarding employment, staffing, and turnover.
Be the face of HR for the university by attending various university wide events and department specific events.
Manage the performance improvement process with business leaders, disciplinary actions, terminations, ethics violations and other types of unprofessional conduct.
Deliver people analytics to business units to enhance their understanding of their department people metrics.
Deliver and facilitate new employee orientation and onboarding, supervisor training, and other training initiatives as needed.
Coordinate and deliver staff/faculty engagement events, projects, and other duties as required.
Ensures compliance with all federal and state employment laws, such as: EEOC, FLSA, OSHA/Workers' Comp, FMLA, Title IX, ADA, VEVRAA, and others.
Performs other duties as assigned.
