Role Summary

Manager, EHS in Environmental will be responsible for the development and overseeing compliant operations of environmental water related programs for their respective business units. Reports to the Director, Environment, Health & Safety(EHS) and will excel cross-functionally with numerous internal departments, and external government agencies. You will be responsible for managing, developing, leading, and sustaining environmental initiatives to support all areas of the manufacturing facility, in Normal Illinois. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and can understand complex regulations and communicate them effectively to a variety of groups with diverse interests and backgrounds. The person in this position should be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, team-oriented environment. Must have the ability to influence to ensure safe and environmentally responsible operations often without direct authority over cross-functional team members.
Responsibilities

Manage and oversee environmental compliance and best management practices for the Normal, Illinois manufacturing campus. This role will have a focus on wastewater, storm water and overall regulated water programs.
Design, and recommend, solutions for environmental processes relating to Permitting, Wastewater Treatment, Waste Management or other regulatory requirements.
Ensure that all applicable environmental compliance programs are in place and functioning properly.
Interfaces regulatory bodies on matters related to environmental regulatory compliance.
Ensure applicable environmental related goals including leading indicators are set, tracked, and shared with the organization.
Ensure a process is functioning such that all new equipment meets applicable environmental standards prior to operation.
Ensure environmental training is completed according to schedule.
Coach and influence all management staff including Operations and cross-functional partners to integrate and manage environmental compliance.
Ensure that necessary inspections are completed to evaluate environmental aspects and impacts. This role will require doing regular site inspections.
Be the subject matter expert for applicable compliance regulations.
Ensure new compliance tools are successfully tied into EHS Management Software
Audit stakeholders and cross-functional partners to ensure proper recordkeeping and training.
Assure compliance with all applicable CAA, CWA, RCRA, NPDES, EPA, federal, state, local and health regulation requirements.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization with a minimum of 5 years EHS experience.
Extensive and working knowledge of EPA regulations, with a working knowledge of DOT, hazardous materials, and Process Safety Management. Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and management skills required.
