Tatum of Randstad USA is seeking an ACCOUNTING MANAGER for an exciting and challenging opportunity.

Tatum of Randstad USA is working with professional services firm in Wheaton, IL to identify a skilled ACCOUNTING MANAGER for a position within their organization.

The ACCOUNTING MANAGER is responsible for managing the administrative operations of the firm, including supervising administrative personnel; overseeing the Firm’s finance functions; and assisting in the marketing of the firm’s services.

The ACCOUNTING MANAGER will report to the firm’s executive committee and will meet with the committee on a regular basis.

responsibilities:

Personnel and Human Resource Management

The ACCOUNTING MANAGER should have a background in personnel and human resource management and will be responsible for overall personnel management, including the following:

+ Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and fostering professional development.

+ Oversee cash flow management, including monitoring and forecasting cash needs for various projects.

+ Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the real estate development and private equity portfolios.

+ Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of annual budgets and financial forecasts for various projects and investment funds.

+ Manage accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects, including cost tracking and capital expenditure reporting.

+ Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to senior management.

+ Assist in coordinating internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

+ Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax filings and investor reporting.

+ Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.

+ Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting procedures.

+ Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including project management, finance, and legal, to support business objectives.

Management of Firm Finances

The Firm Administrator should have a strong financial background and will be responsible for the overall financial planning and financial management for the Firm, including responsibility for the following:

+ Planning and implementing the Firm’s annual budget.

+ Financial and tax reporting.

+ General ledger and trust accounting.

+ Assisting with billing and collections / Cash flow control.

+ Managing banking relationships.

+ Payroll and fringe benefits for employees.

+ Oversee internal accounting functions such as billing, cash collections, invoice payments and payroll.

+ Responsible for firm insurance policies.

+ Work with outside vendors as needed.

qualifications:

+ AT LEAST 7 years of experience as an accounting manager in a CPA or law firm setting.

+ A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

+ CPA is preferred but not required.

+ Previous experience managing an accounting team or department.

+ Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports.

+ Experience with accounting software such as Yardi, NetSuite, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

+ Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders, including investors, senior management, and team members.

+ Skills in managing financial aspects of real estate projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

+ Ability to adapt to changing industry trends and regulatory environments.

+ Proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
