Description:

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for 2 major components of service. 50% – Testing, Troubleshooting and Repairing fare boxes in house. This will include board level circuit repair, and utilizing test equipment. Will report to in-house Field Service Supervisor. 50% – National Field Level Repair on buses and trains. Installation and commissioning of new units.

Must Haves:

- 1-3 years experience within Electromechanical Service/Field Service

- Able to read and interpret Electrical Blueprints

- Strong communication skills – Client facing role

Plus Haves:

- Technical college or HVAC schooling

- Modular level installation experience

- Board level circuit repair and analysis

- Previous use of logic boards with firmware/software

Travel Expectations and Information:

- 25% Travel – 75% In House Repairs (75% in house while on contract training period)

- Per Diem 55-65/day

- Cooperate Travel Cards

- Pay Starts 2 hours before flight – Flight back depends on work day

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

- Associates Degree or Higher is a plus

- 1-2 years of experience

- At least 25% National Travel Experience

- Electro-Mechanical Background

- Test, troubleshoot and repair production and field service electronics/mechanical assemblies, parts and equipment.

- Adjust and calibrate circuitry and components using principles and theories of electronics.

- Set up test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional and operational test to production and field service electronic assemblies.

- Travel to customer sites to perform installations and field support.

- Write technical reports to describe and illustrate the overall performance of equipment installed.

- Plan, coordinate and carry out in-house product training.

Plus Haves

- Good written and verbal communication skills;

- Should solicit customer feedback to improve service

- Must have knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office, familiarity with Lotus Notes;

- Must have sound knowledge of electronic/mechanical assemblies;

- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry;

- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables;

- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
