CompX Grayslake is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered mechanical and electromechanical locking devices, systems for world class original equipment manufacturers and manufacture of precision instruments, throttles, marine products, and accessories.
Position Responsibilities:
- Experience in running Lathes, Surface Grinders, Milling machines.
- Experience with sinker EDM Machines and electrode construction.
- Experience in building small to medium size precision Die Cast Dies and Plastic Injection Molds from tooling drawings and piece part prints.
- Ability to read engineering piece part prints, have mathematical skills and measuring skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot mold problems and make the corrections needed a plus
- Ability to make replacement inserts for molds.
- Ability to build fixtures for manufacturing assembly machines a plus
- Knowledge of trim dies a plus.
- A minimum of 3 year’s experience
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand on feet 8+ hours a day behind various pieces of equipment in Tool Room and Die Cast Department.
- Ability to lift and move steel and aluminum which weighs no more than 35 pounds.
- Ability to move around equipment. Such movement may include but not be limited to bending, leaning, twisting, placing arm(s) over one’s head in order to evaluate / analyze, set up and operate equipment in Tool Room and Die cast Department
