IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Field Technician in our Gurnee, IL office. As a Field Technician you will be responsible for participation in daily operations of all field activities including
As a third level, demonstrates familiarity with various common job site conditions with the ability to troubleshoot in the field. Able to manage total client-contractor-Project Manager liaison. The Construction Manager may assign the technician to a construction project to serve as a Construction Inspector or Resident Engineer.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

Intermediate to advanced laboratory, field inspection, testing, and documentation
Identify potential construction or material issues/deficiencies
Understand operations and identifies potential problems
Attend training to achieve various certifications
Operate company vehicles
Maintain equipment and vehicles
Observe safety and security procedures
Other duties as assigned

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:
Strong leadership skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to work as part of a team
Must always maintain professional conduct
Demonstrate proficiency with on site and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, or hot mix asphalt
Ability to travel
Valid driver's license required with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier

Education and experience requirements are:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Must have 5 years' experience as Field Technician; or equivalent combination of education and experience
