The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of projects. They will work with Old Second National Bank's Senior managers, business analyst and other internal and external business partners to ensure that all projects are completed on time and on budget. Incumbent holds the primary project relationship with the project sponsor and/or Senior Management, as applicable. The PM ensures that a successful business outcome is the prime measure of project success and has a solid understanding of their line of business and is able to facilitate communication with other managers and stakeholders efficiently and effectively. The Project Manager must be able to effectively manage multiple projects at once while still providing clear direction to their team members.
Essential Job Functions:
Directs complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners
Works with managers in all business lines to ensure projects are staffed with the right mix of people who exhibit the required perspectives, skills, and behaviors.
Accountable for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering assigned projects.
Provides leadership, motivation, coaching, mentoring and professional development for project teams in order to obtain a high level of cooperation and contribution from all project members.
Ensures the mechanisms of change management (plans, processes, tools) are in place and effectively executed.
Ensures project issues and risks are identified, quantified, managed and tracked. Uses past experience to proactively anticipate risk and develop appropriate mitigation strategies and plans. Ensures risks, assumptions and constraints are appropriately communicated and escalated when necessary.
Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost, and quality parameters.
Ensures all stakeholders are informed of progress and issues
Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.
Defines the project management process, standards, deliverables and operational cadence necessary to ensure consistent project execution
Drives a culture of continuous improvement throughout the company
Proactively monitors progress, resolves issues and manages inter-dependencies between other work streams of the program; including other regulatory/industry programs that may be impacted
Ensures the appropriate scheduling of project deliverables to meet the plan in conjunction with IT and other relevant business areas
Negotiates priorities as necessary and escalates issues appropriately by understanding the most effective path towards resolution
Collaborates and communicates with third parties, executive sponsors, senior management stakeholders and partner groups in particular the supported business function to ensure that all initiatives are efficiently managed and delivered
Builds credible, trusted advisory relationships with the key stakeholders at all levels of the organization and also third parties
Delivers regular progress reports which present a concise, accurate status of the program, ensuring a consistent status is communicated
Follows standard criteria, practices and reporting for partners that utilize general Operational Client Consulting
Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues
Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree and four or more years of experience in project management, bank operations, or financial setting which involves managing projects and deliverables, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
