These technologies are revolutionizing our business operations, management practices, and decision-making processes. To ensure the consistency, standardization, cost management, and manageability of these emerging digital footprints, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer Cloud Data Lake to join our team.
Pactiv Evergreen utilizes various applications such as SAP, Blue Yonder, One Stream, and more. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in establishing efficient and reliable data management practices within our organization. The bulk of the data engineer’s work would be in building, managing and optimizing data pipelines and then moving these data pipelines effectively into production for key data and analytics consumers like business/data analysts, data scientists or any persona that needs curated data for data and analytics use cases across the enterprise.
The Azure Data Enginee r will require both creative and collaborative working with IT and the wider business. It will involve evangelizing effective data management practices and promoting better understanding of data and analytics. The data engineer will also be tasked with working with key business stakeholders, IT experts and subject-matter experts to plan and deliver optimal analytics and data science solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Build data pipelines: Managed data pipelines consist of a series of stages through which data flows (for example, from data sources or endpoints of acquisition to integration to consumption for specific use cases). These data pipelines must be created, maintained and optimized as workloads move from development to production for specific use cases. Architecting, creating and maintaining data pipelines will be the primary responsibility of the data engineer
+ Data Integration and Data Lake : Bring data from disparate systems and applications into a centralized data lake on the Synapse platform. Design and develop robust ETL processes to ensure smooth and efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
+ Drive Automation through effective metadata management : The data engineer will be responsible for using innovative and modern tools, techniques and architectures to partially or completely automate the most-common, repeatable and tedious data preparation and integration tasks in order to minimize manual and error-prone processes and improve productivity. The data engineer will also need to assist with renovating the data management infrastructure to drive automation in data integration and management and automate data pipelines to ensure the timely and accurate flow of data from source systems to the data lake. Implement scheduling, monitoring, and error handling mechanisms to maintain data pipeline reliability.
+ Data Visualization : Collaborate with data visualization teams to ensure that the data stored in the data lake is readily available for dashboard development and reporting purposes. Optimize data structures and formats to facilitate efficient data retrieval for visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and BOBJ.
+ Data Cataloging and Documentation: Develop and maintain data cataloging processes to enable easy discovery and understanding of available data assets. Document data sources, data definitions, and data lineage to ensure transparency and data governance.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, related disciplines, or equivalent technical work experience.
+ 2-3 years work experience designing, developing, and implementing data solutions on Azure Cloud Platform; 1+ years of which should be working on Azure data platform including Azure Data Factory, Synapse, PySpark or Data Fabric.
+ Master in Data Science or Data Analytics will be considered in lieu of one year of experience.
+ Relevant Azure certifications are highly desirable.
+ Experience working with multiple business units and sourcing data from applications such as SAP, Blue Yonder, One Stream, etc. is preferred
+ Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI.
+ Experience with machine learning and AI solutions is a plus.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders.
+ Ability and aptitude to evaluate and self-learn evolving technologies.
+ Familiarity with manufacturing and/or consumer packaging industry is a plus.
