Baxter plans to spin off our ~$5B Kidney Care segment into an independent company. The new standalone entity will leverage our nearly 70-year legacy in acute therapies and home and in-center dialysis to provide best-in-class care to the people we serve. With its own investment priorities and enhanced management focus, the company will be better positioned to pursue growth opportunities and invest in innovation. This position reports directly into the VP, Controller and will be responsible for the leadership of the spin off's corporate accounting functions, which include Technical Accounting, SEC Reporting, Global Consolidations, and Treasury Accounting. The individual is expected to be based in Deerfield, IL. The individual will partner closely with leaders in our FP&A, investor relations, tax, treasury, commercial finance, and business development teams on financial reporting and certain forecasting-related matters and will serve as a key resource to regional accounting teams. The individual will also have key responsibilities related to the separation of the Kidney Care segment and the finance transformation as a new stand-alone business. The role will provide the opportunity for significant interaction with Kidney Care senior leaders, including its CEO and CFO, as well as the board of directors and respective committees.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the consolidation of the Kidney Care segment's worldwide financial results each month.
Potential to lead the preparation of annual and quarterly reports on Form 10-K and 10-Q and ensure the accuracy of financial information contained in earnings releases, registration statements, debt offering memoranda, and current reports on Form 8-K should the spin off become publicly traded
Lead presentation of annual and quarterly filings at disclosure committee and audit committee meetings.
Develop and maintain accounting policies and drive consistent application of U.S. GAAP across the company, including through consultations with our regional accounting, finance, and business teams.
Partner with teams across finance (e.g., FP&A, investor relations, tax, treasury, and commercial finance) and in other areas of the company (e.g., business development) on financial reporting related matters.
Participate in diligence activities on proposed transactions and lead various finance integration initiatives on completed acquisitions, including acquisition accounting valuations.
Drive automation and process improvement initiatives across the global accounting organization to simplify processes, enhance internal controls, and generate operating efficiencies.
Serve as a motivational leader focused on mentorship and development of team members.

Qualifications:
Broad experience with technical accounting matters across U.S. GAAP
Knowledge of Workiva and the Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close System (FCCS)
Experience with consolidations (including related systems) and SEC reporting at a global public company
Skilled at documenting analysis and conclusions of complex matters in a clear and concise manner
Strong understanding of financial forecasts and fair value measurements
Experience driving process improvement and automation initiatives
Proven ability to work effectively under pressure & meet deadlines
