Reporting to the CNC Lead, CNC Operators are a central role in the production process and play a key function in the basic running of jobs as they move through from design to shipping. CNC Operators are responsible for maintaining both a steady pace and high-quality output of parts for assembly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operates Zund machines by organizing production functions as outlined by production engineering dept; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and flip operations; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs; sheet cut and part tracking for assembly.
Loads and off-loads materials from CNC tables, cleaning parts and organizing for assembly.
Verifies settings by measuring positions, first articles, and sample workpieces; adheres to high internal quality standards.
Maintains specifications by observing machining operations; takes measurements; detects malfunctions; troubleshoots processes; adjusts and reprograms controls; replaces worn blades; adheres to quality assurance/control procedures and processes.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; follows manufacturer's instructions; troubleshoots malfunctions; calls for repairs.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications; participating in training modules as they are available.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Learns and performs other job duties that support the fabrication process, as needed.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Consistency of Method - documents and updates our processes daily, striving for consistency
Sense of Urgency - quantity and quality are equally important.
Comfortable in generating high-tolerance assemblies and production.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks
Possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Education and/or Experience
Comfortable in manufacturing environment and with high tolerance CAD/CAM production via CNC.

Location & Reporting:
This position works out of the Turf manufacturing plant (Gilberts) and reports to the CNC Lead. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Requires regular lifting 30-50lbs.
