Overview

 

Element has an opportunity for an Associate Electrical Engineer -EMI at our Rockford, IL lab, whose primary responsibility is to perform EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) tests, and use standard and precision instrumentation to take measurements of electronic, electro-mechanical equipment and subsystems in an EMI laboratory setting.

Salary Range: $28.00 - $37.00 USD Hourly
Responsibilities

 

Conduct a variety of EMC and RF tests which includes setting up test equipment and customer equipment, performing testing to applicable test plans or standards such as RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD, IEC and/or CISPR standards
Apply basic knowledge of electrical circuits and basic electronic components
Maintain detailed and accurate logbook
Understand customer test plans and how to properly follow laboratory technical procedures and test specifications
Setup test equipment, and follow written specifications necessary for the proper performance of the test
Maintain in-depth knowledge of test standards, product test procedures, and instrumentation
Accurately observe and records test progress and results. Organize and document data for each assigned project
Interacts with customers during the testing process, periodically assist with troubleshooting and development modifications
Skills / Qualifications

 

BS in Electrical Engineering or similar Engineering related field preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical engineering preferred
Strong EMC electronic testing capabilities
Knowledge of EMC Standards and regulations
Must be able to commute to Rockford and Chicago labs
