What you will do

The Technology PMO Process Lead role reports to the Managing Director, US TI&I PMO. The primary goal of this position is to lead and enhance the processes and systems used to provide portfolio management and project management functions as the team grows, serving the US TI&I organization. In addition, this role may be responsible for direct involvement in managing projects, depending on varying demand from active projects across the portfolio. The following responsibilities will be shared with the Managing Director, US TI&I PMO based on skillset, interest and capacity:

+ Project Management Execution – Lead and support US TI&I PMO project managers, and collaborate with other US TI&I initiative leaders, to ensure compliance with project management standards and promote effective project management practice across the full portfolio of initiatives. Drive best practices resulting in consistent project delivery on-time, within budget, and with full scope. While all traditional aspects of project management are important, there will be additional emphasis on managing project risk, schedules and financials.

+ Project Management Process – Collaborate with the US Region Business PMO and US Change Initiatives organizations in standardizing and improving project management practices across the US region. Collaborate with and support US TI&I project managers to ensure deep understanding of project management concepts, practical implementation, and world-class application of the profession to drive project success.

+ Portfolio Management – Own the US TI&I initiative roadmap, collaborating across US TI&I leadership to build and actively maintain the portfolio. Efforts include collection and refinement of proposals, prioritization with leadership, analysis of financial impact, coordination with the US region initiative intake team, baselining the annual plan, and ongoing portfolio change management.

+ Project Estimation – Operate and optimize the US TI&I estimation process, which serves to provide comprehensive project estimates for all initiatives impacting US TI&I. Responsibilities include interfacing with the US region initiative intake team for estimation requests, collaborating directly with various lines of business to ensure clarity, coordinating the generation of estimates across 12 discrete US TI&I teams, and identifying and implementing opportunities to improve estimation accuracy and turnaround time.

+ Resource Management – Operate and enhance current time tracking practices deployed across the US Technology team with a future goal of expanding into the design and deployment of a comprehensive resource planning, management and forecasting solution.

Who you are

+ Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in banking or the financial services industry.

+ Strong working knowledge of the Project Management function, with a minimum of 2 years explicit governance, process or project controls experience.

+ Possess a technical degree or a demonstrated technical aptitude, including the ability to quickly gain expertise on new systems and lead others through technology transitions.

+ Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

+ Adapts well to a fast-paced and changing environment, and able to prioritize work responsibilities and workload as priorities shift.

+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and oral. Ability to communicate complicated matters in a simple, structured way to leadership.

+ Ability to influence key stakeholders through information that is articulated clearly and backed by data.

+ Detail oriented and highly organized.

+ Strong analytical skills; ability to apply logical solutions to business problems.

+ Ability to positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization.

+ Maintains a strong working knowledge of bank operations, systems, products, processes and controls.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

+ Planview project management software experience is a plus.

+ Professional certification preferred (e.g. PMP or Prince2).

+ College degree required.
