The Opportunity

This position works out of our Lake County/Chicago location in the Digital Technology Services Organization.

As the Senior Program Manager, Strategic Programs and Connected Solutions, you’ll have the chance to drive cross functional strategic programs for the advancement of current and next generation digital solutions; as well as managing programs to reduce the overall technical debt of the organization. You’ll manage large scale programs and projects ensuring adherence to quality processes and regulations on a global basis across one or more of our divisions.

What You’ll Work On

+ Plan, execute and manage all aspects of digital programs, including initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure.

+ Leads project planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting of projects.

+ Ensure program compliance to all internal procedures and external regulations, where required.

+ Drives for resolution in cross-functional problem solving, communication, and integration.

+ Liaise with other Project Owners, functional managers, and management to prioritize activities across programs to balance resource availability, program deliverables and schedule, and business needs.

+ Demonstrate flexibility to quickly adapt and produce in a rapidly changing environment, meeting aggressive program schedules

+ Actively champion PMO best practices to drive better project planning, execution, project prioritization and change management within Digital Programs

+ Conduct Program Review Meetings with stakeholders and Provide Regular updates

+ Develop alternatives to major business problems. Assist management in selecting the specific action plans that will best meet the identified long-term business issues. Anticipate long-term future problems, resolve current issues, learn and adjust based on prior results and prior project leadership experience.

+ Function as the project contact with third party vendors.

+ Provide leadership on strategic business issues. Drive cross-functional teams to meet milestones and deliverables established in project planning and agreed upon with senior leadership.

+ Accountable for the total project scope; completion within budget constraints and scheduled completion date. Accountable for the successful completion of project tasks under direct or matrix control. Level loads work to ensure effective use of available resources.

+ Interact with senior level management to reach agreement regarding significant program strategies. Interface with other disciplines, customers, internal clients, and project staff and internal/ external experts as required.

+ Prepare and presents written and oral reports and other presentations to internal and external audiences. Adjusts presentation style and content to suit the audience.

Required Qualifications

+ B.S. in Computer Science or similar engineering discipline

+ Minimum 10 years of related work experience.

+ Demonstrated expertise in PM tools and processes

+ Experience working in an FDA-regulated business (e.g. validated software related to medical, pharmaceutical, or life sciences products) and PCI regulated business

+ Demonstrated experience with delivering quality programs

Preferred Qualifications

+ Require strong technical experience in cross-functional program management and team leadership.

+ Require strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work and negotiate with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels of the organization and across companies to align plans and resolve conflict

+ Ideally the incumbent has knowledge of software development practices (e.g. Agile/Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence)

+ Strong leadership skills

+ Excellent oral and written communication, presenting, meeting facilitation, negotiation, decision making, and problem-solving skills

The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 – $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
