Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

Description:

This position is responsible for the assembly of low and medium voltage electrical switchgear cabinets for the manufacture of products. Assemblers will be responsible for taking a blueprint or work order, gathering appropriate materials and hardware, using hand and power tools to follow the work instructions and perform a basic inspection to ensure the product is manufactured with quality.

Responsibilities include
Interpret assembly and elevation drawings
Construct modular steel cabinets and copper buss assemblies
Read tape measure
Experience using manual hand tools (wrench, screwdriver, pliers)
Experience with power tools (drill, impact, pneumatic torque wrench)

Job Requirements
At least 2 years’ experience as a Mechanical Assembler, Machine Builder or even Automotive Mechanic working in a more job shop environment and not on an assembly line

Must have knowledge of electrical symbols and schematics

Must be able to use shop equipment and hand tools

Perform basic math functions including an understanding of fractions and decimals

Must be able to read, write and converse fluently in English with the level of competency that will permit the applicant to function in the position
