Overview:
The CNC Machinist will operate multi-axis lathes in support of machining and other process which includestasks such as loading and tending runs of parts, or performing one-step operations on individual parts.
Minimum Skill Qualifications:
1+ years of experience operating a multi-axis CNC lathe which would include:
Positioning and securing tools in holding device, machine tables, chuck, centers, and fixtures.
Indexing turret and adjusting positions of tools at each station in relation to work piece to assure clearance between moving parts and machining of specified dimensions and tolerances
Starting and observing machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Prior use of standard hand tools
Prior use of standard pneumatic tools
Prior use of standard inspection tools i.e. calipers, micrometers, drop gauges
Prior experience in precision metal machining
Prior experience in machining with tolerances of +/- .001
Prior experience machining metals such as; stainless steel, ductile iron, Hastelloy
Essential Competences and Capabilities:
Ability to read/interpret blueprints, job orders, tooling instructions, and standard charts for such specifications as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions
Perform housekeeping duties including 5S, coolant replacement, and TPM
Follow Quality Policy and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities
Willingness and ability to rotate into other positions within the team as required to meet production requirements
Actively participate in defining idea and strategies to meet quality and performance objectives during improvementreviews within the team
Actively participate in team meetings as required (safety, problem solving, etc.)
Ability to problem-solveindividually or as part of a group as job duties require
High School Diploma or equivalent

Must possess proficient reading, writing, and computation skills
Must possess good mechanical aptitude demonstrated by success in previous machine operation or like activities
Must possess good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Ability to continuously improve and learn new skills

Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers
Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled
