Position Highlights:
Position: Blood Bank Quality Coordinator
Location: Evanston Hospital
Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
Hours: Monday-Friday, start times can vary between 8am-9am.
Required Travel: Yes (to Endeavor Health Hospital Blood Banks)

What you will need:
License: N/A
Education: Bacelor's degree in a biological science or medical laboratory science degree and the requisite courses to meet CLIA requirements for moderate to high complexity testing.
Certification: MT or MLS(ASCP) or equivalent, SBB or CQA certification preferred.
Experience: 3 years of relevant experience in immunohematologic testing, cGMP, and blood bank quality systems with a progressive increase in supervisory responsibilities.
Skills: Ability to develop standard operating procedures and quality program activities. Develop and implement validation protocols, competency assessment and internal assessments. Able to solve technical and interdepartmental problems related to immunohematology and transfusion medicine. Capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results, performing root cause analysis, and taking and documenting corrective action. Latter includes ability to analyze variances and variance trends. Written and verbal communication skills sufficient to manage these activities across the NorthShore system blood banks. Computer skills including use of Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.

What you will do:
Coordinate Quality Improvement and Assurance activities at the NothShore University HealthSystem Blood Banks to ensure regulatory and internal procedural compliance. In conjunction with the Director and Manager develop and maintain procedure manual(s), develop and implement validation protocols, internal assessments and competency assessments. Manage event reports and event-related corrective action, direct maintenance of event management database, and prepare trend reports from that database.
