The Risk and Control Enhancement (RCE) Program Execution Support individual will be responsible for supporting a critical cross-functional strategic program for Northern Trust that will deliver enhanced risk management and control capabilities throughout the organization. The candidate will work with the program team supporting Operational Risk Management (ORM) and will report directly to the ORM Program Lead.

The ORM Program Execution Support individual's main responsibility is to provide administrative services and support to the ORM Program Lead and the Program Management team. The ideal individual will be able to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations as well as maintain a realistic balance among multiple, competing priorities. The ORM Program Execution Support individual must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion and attention to detail.

  • Understand subject matter at hand to provide the most value to the program team.
  • Prepare reports and presentations as needed for executive leadership, governance committees, etc.
  • Prepare trackers to assist the program team in managing calendars, resources, budget, action items, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, etc.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, agenda development, capturing meeting minutes, summarizing the takeaway of milestones and action items.
  • Act as a key point of contact for coordination of PMO/Program planning needs (e.g., workshops, events, etc.)
  • Act as a key point of contact for vendors, contractors, and visitors; provides general assistance.
  • Gather artifacts as needed to evidence completion of activities.
  • Maintain collaboration sites, such as SharePoint or Teams.
  • Prioritizes and manages multiple activities with accuracy.



The success candidate will benefit from having:

  • A College or University degree and/or relevant risk management and/or administrative support experience is required.
  • Technical skills: Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Office 365 suite required (strong with Excel, Word, SharePoint, Project; advanced PowerPoint and Adobe) for analysis and creation of presentations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to maintain the structure of the program and to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong collaboration skills, ability to work with multiple partners in cross-functional groups at various levels throughout the organization.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Self-motivated, highly flexible, and adaptable to change.
