Job Description Summary

The Product Owner role operates within a cross-functional product development team, most commonly following the AGILE scrum methodology. The Product Owner has leadership responsibilities for setting the agenda for the team, with the goal of maximizing the business value the team delivers. Operating independently and requiring guidance in only the most complex situations, the Product Owner's responsibilities supporting the delivery and implementation of products include testing, conducting product demonstrations, coordinating deployments, prioritizing and facilitating maintenance and engineering change upgrades, and developing detailed integration plans for all products. Leveraging knowledge of the business strategy and industry trends, the product owner provides innovative direction to the product vision and evangelizes its realization. Creates, adopts, and adapts best practices and standards to be followed within the team to improve its predictability, reliability, and economy of delivery. Responsible for accepting developed functionality on behalf of the Business as fit-for-purpose to be installed into the Production environment and to achieve the Business's strategic objectives. May be responsible for leading more than one team and/or coordinating and orchestrating own team's efforts with those of other Product Owners and their teams in support of program-level objectives.

Major Duties :

  • Partners with Product Management and Business stakeholders to influence, support, and champion product vision and roadmaps, and to coordinate value realization across teams beyond their direct responsibility
  • Anticipates potential future client needs and proactively positions product capabilities to take advantage of business opportunities
  • Maintains a well-groomed backlog of development items to be used for efficient implementation of projects
  • Influences the shape and champions the adoption of automated testing frameworks; reviews and agrees acceptance criteria for new development and signs off on business-readiness, in coordination with quality assurance team members
  • Takes a leadership role within the development team to foster an environment of teamwork, collaboration and enthusiasm, championing the experimentation with and adoption of advanced and emerging AGILE techniques


Knowledge :

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Deep subject matter expertise in their product domain
  • Demonstrated skills in team leadership and project implementations
  • Knowledge of the drivers of business unit profitability and experience delivering key results that improve product profitability
  • Comfortable operating in a technical environment involving complex business logic and its programmatic implementation



Experience :

  • 12+ years relevant experience in the Financial Services industry
