JOB OVERVIEW:

The Director of Procurement will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the entire procurement process, from vendor selection to contract negotiation. They will lead the procurement team and collaborate with departments and stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of products. This leadership role requires experience in building effective processes and training for procurement team members in order to drive cost efficiencies throughout the supply chain. The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of market trends, supplier relationships, cost negotiation, and risk management strategies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop, implement, and communicate a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives.
• Establish significant cost savings goals and work to execute a detailed plan to meet said goals.
• Establish new procurement policies, procedures, programs and training for procurement team members in order to drive cost efficiencies throughout the supply chain.
• Evaluate and enhance current procurement policies, procedures and programs with a focus on their ability to enhance efficiency in timely deliveries.
• Partner closely with the Quality department to ensure high quality standards are met by suppliers while continuing to increase efficiencies in the supplier approval process.
• Develop and manage Procurement KPIs and goals, along with shared goals with the Quality department and the greater Supply Chain organization.
• Identify cost-savings opportunities, process improvements, and innovative sourcing solutions.
• Evaluate, select and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure optimal performance, quality, and reliability.
• Negotiate favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual agreements.
• Provide effective leadership to the procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Set clear performance expectations and support professional development.
• Implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.
• Stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and geopolitical factors that may impact procurement activities.
• Ensure procurement practices adhere to legal and ethical standards.
• Monitor and control procurement budgets, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Analyze spending data to make informed decisions and optimize procurement processes.

JOB EXPERIENCE:
• 10+ years of procurement experience.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
• Proven experience in a senior procurement role with a track record of successful strategic procurement initiatives.
• Proven experience building procurement policies, procedures and team member training that drive cost efficiencies.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities
• In-depth knowledge of supply chain management, market dynamics, and emerging trends.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

WORK EXPECTATIONS
• Able to be onsite 3 days per week minimum.
• Willing to travel both domestically and internationally as required, typically once every 2-3 months, to support supplier visits and attend relevant tradeshows.
