job summary:
A Quality Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Pontiac, IL area. A Quality Engineer researches, tests, and develops quality standards for products and processes, supervises precision programs, mentors staff, and ensures zero defects through continuous improvement initiatives.

responsibilities:
+ Review and approve sampling procedures, designs, forms, and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
+ Supervise programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
+ Conduct training sessions on quality control activities and best practices.
+ Specialize in various areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative application.
+ Direct workers engaged in measuring and testing product quality and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
+ Plan and direct activities related to the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
+ Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in engineering fields such as chemical, electrical, or mechanical.

Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s Degree.
+ 3-5 years of previous Quality Engineer experience.
