Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution?of?Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement?and the?design and?manufacture?of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

The Manager, Supply Chain Planning is responsible for facility performance levels to corporate targets for inventory reduction, increased inventory turns and improved order-to-deliver results. Individual will lead facility efforts to develop and implement the “Plan for every Part,” Material Replenishment, and improved throughput efficiency. Leads facility efforts to implement and monitor compliance for supply chain processes.

What You Will Do:

+ Developing, implementing, and managing complex kitting supply chain streams with global reach.

+ Managing relationships and processes with suppliers to ensure adequate product supply to meet inventory strategies. Providing support for new supplier selection.

+ Establishing effective linkages, partnerships, and best practices with clients, business partners, and internal functions.

+ Performing analysis of supply chain trends, sales, forecast, on-time-delivery, and inventory strategies and recommending improvements to the supply chain performance.

+ Accountable to achieve corporate supply chain performance targets by managing end-to-end kitting supply chain and logistics, including inventory management, and order-to-delivery results meeting or exceeding targets.

+ Work to deploy strategic supply chain initiatives and is required to take an enterprise view of kitting supply chain planning processes and tools. Will require thorough knowledge and experience with the deployment of material strategies and related software applications.

+ This position governs supply chain teams working with multi-functional leaders and teams, both in and outside of the division, that may include external suppliers or third-party providers, to optimize the kitting supply chain.

+ Leads efforts to identify and resolve kitting supply chain constraints, which requires the ability to work across cross-functional areas and collaborates and negotiates complex solutions. Drives communications, root-cause corrective action, and ultimate resolution of supply chain constraints.

+ Provides leadership, coaching, focus, motivation, and encouragement to direct reports. Responsible for coaching, developing and mentoring resources. Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of direct reports, including developing, capability building, and succession planning.

+ Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.

What You Have (Basic Requirements):

+ Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors that lie between the purchase of raw materials, components and supplies, and delivery of finished products.

+ Demonstrates experience with managing the complete supply chain management process.

+ Quantifies and discusses benefits and risks of various supply chain strategies and approaches.

+ Discusses capacity issues at various points in the supply chain.

+ Oversees supply chain finance activities and measurements of effectiveness.

+ Participates in supply chain network design or redesign projects or processes.

+ Creates and monitors mechanisms for process and system integration with clients and partners.

+ Business Markets: Knowledge of existing and planned markets and market-related initiatives from the perspectives of the competition, the suppliers, the customer base, and the regulatory environment; ability to apply market knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

+ Develops objectives and strategies for a major market segment.

+ Analyzes market segments and niches within a major market.

+ Evaluates market data sources and key indicators.

+ Effectiveness Measurement: Knowledge of effective measurement techniques and ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement.

+ Global Perspective: Knowledge of issues, opportunities, and challenges for conducting business in the international marketplace; ability to apply global perspectives appropriately in a wide range of situations.

+ Planning (Tactical & Strategic): Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

+ Develops, refines, and communicates tactical plans for own responsibilities.

+ Provides the right level of detail as input for strategic plan development.

+ Demonstrates the value and necessity of linking tactical plans to overall strategic plan.

+ Ensures attention to the detail and dependencies of existing departmental-level plans.

+ Plans for allocation of resources in line with unit goals, technical and business objectives.

+ Contingency and Disaster Recovery Management: Knowledge of manufacturing contingency and disaster recovery approaches, practices, tools, and techniques; ability to develop and administrate contingency and disaster recovery plans.

+ Performs analysis on environmental and equipment configurations; develops disaster prevention plans and improves backup and recovery capabilities.

+ Participates in the development and distribution of procedures and practices regarding disaster recovery.

+ Coordinates the development, documentation, and maintenance of contingency and disaster recovery plans for critical organizational functions.

+ Vendor/Supplier Evaluations & Certification: Knowledge of vendor/supplier evaluations and certification; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices, and tools for evaluating, selecting and certifying vendors, suppliers and partners.

What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):

+ Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.

+ Knowledge/Experience of supply chain planning processes (i.e., Inventory Management and lead time strategy and analytical tools – Power BI, SAS).

+ Knowledge/Experience with common supply chain systems (i.e., SAP or AS400).

+ Knowledge/Experience with 6 Sigma Project Management principl
