The Role

In this role you will have responsibility for advanced tax planning functions for the Company. You will work with other Tax leaders to develop the domestic and global tax strategy, and support and influence the company’s overall long-term business plans by recommending tax efficient structures. You will have oversight of significant tax planning and special projects. This role reports to the Senior Vice President, Global Tax.

This role has been designated as fully-remote.

The Main Responsibilities

+ Develops and implements strategies and executes those tactical efforts necessary to maximize financial statement tax benefits, increase after tax cash flows, or mitigate tax exposures.

+ Develops and implements strategic tax planning ideas and opportunities that will minimize the impact of income taxes on the Company’s bottom line through effective planning, audit management, risk management, documentation, and research.

+ Support M&A, divestiture, internal restructuring, and capital markets activity, including due diligence, structure alternatives, and negotiation of agreements.

+ Support issues arising from recent divestitures, including issues arising from transaction tax services agreements and other disputes.

+ Keep abreast U.S. federal and state tax legislation that could impact business operations, including interpreting and modeling the impact to the Company.

+ Advise on, interpret, and negotiate tax provisions of commercial contracts and agreements.

+ Coordinate with tax compliance to ensure that all income and transaction tax return elections, disclosures, and accounting and reporting methods are accurately prepared, timely filed, and well-documented.

+ Evaluating and pursuing various tax incentives and credits at the federal, state, and local level, and ensure appropriate documentation and compliance with legal requirements.

+ Support tax audit and controversy activities, development of tax models to analyze the impact of tax strategies, changes in tax laws and potential transactions, and financial reporting and forecasting of the company’s global tax contingencies for ASC 740 and FAS 5.

+ Coordinate with other tax workstream leads to ensure proper tax reporting and support cash tax forecasting process.

+ Manage outside tax service providers and counsel.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required

+ J.D.

+ 10 years of corporate income tax related experience in combination of high-tech public companies, law firm and Big Four audit firms

+ Extensive U.S. Federal and State income and transaction tax knowledge

+ Extensive experience in identifying, analyzing, and communicating complex tax issues and their impact on the company and its operations to key stakeholders, and executive leader

Preferred

+ CPA, LL.M or MBA

+ Public company experience

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$150380 – $200500 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.

$158290 – $211050 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.

$166210 – $221610 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.

$174120 – $232160 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
