Join our team at Col Solare Winery in Benton City, Washington as a Harvest Cellar Hand! We are a renowned winery that focuses on producing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon wines. Located atop Red Mountain, our winery offers stunning views and a unique work environment. As a Harvest Cellar Hand, you will play a vital role in the winemaking process, from fruit processing to operating crush equipment and assisting with must/wine additions. We are seeking dedicated individuals with a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for wine. While previous winery experience is preferred, we provide thorough training for all team members. Col Solare is the partnership between two influential wine producers: Tuscany's Marchesi Antinori and Washington State's Ste Michelle Wine Estates. Located at the top of Red Mountain in Eastern Washington, we specialize in ultra-premium Cabernet Sauvignon from the region.
Duration of Work: August 2024 - November 2024
In this harvest position you will:
Work with a small team to produce ultra-premium wine on Red Mountain.
Assist in all harvest cellar activities including.
Winery Sanitation - cleaning equipment, wine tanks, and hoses
Fruit receival, sorting and processing
Operation and cleaning of crush equipment
Additions to musts/wines
Punch downs and Pump Overs
Racking and Wine Transfer
Barrel filling, topping, stirring, and racking.
Draining tanks, digging out pomace, and pressing pomace
Other tasks as necessary
Maintain the highest level of sanitation in production work areas.
Maintain a positive relationship encouraging strong communication and teamwork.
Be available for long and irregular hours during peak harvest periods or on various shifts.
Comply with all safety requirements.
Working Environment:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to work in cold and wet conditions.
Must be able to bend, squat, and stand for long periods.
Must be able to climb stairs, catwalk, and ladders.
May be required to work in confined space.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
Previous harvest winery experience preferred, but not required.
Must be 18 years of age.
Must be reliable, on-time, and engaged.
High work capacity and ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
Ability to work with all types of personalities across different work functions within Ste. Michelle Wine Estates
Ability to carry out direction both verbally and/or in written form.
Ability to work autonomously.
History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.
Your Compensation:
$16.46-21.40hr. based on upon relevant experience.
