Job Description
Collect, integrate, and analyze data from sources related to health status and outcomes for our members, characteristics of health care providers, internal business processes, and other domains. Perform complex statistical analysis on experimental or business data to validate and quantify trends or patterns identified by business analysts. Use machine learning and probabilistic modeling to construct predictive algorithms to support data analysis or product functions. Verify model and algorithm effectiveness based on real-world results. Design experiments and methodologies to generate and collect data for business use. Create visualizations, interactive analytical applications and interpretive artifacts to support business application of data science findings. Contribute to delivery of analytics and data science solutions. Support the production implementation of new capabilities. Maintain effective communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and contribute to special projects as required or requested. Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, and customers. Represent team in meetings within HCSC. Take a proactive approach to learning, identifying team knowledge gaps, and sharing knowledge to advance the team’s productivity. Assume some project leadership responsibilities. Work with management & business stakeholders to set and adhere to a project plan. Contribute to multiple projects in parallel. Telecommuting permitted 2 days a week.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics or a related field plus 3 years of experience in a Data Scientist or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with: (1) Data analysis and relational-style query languages; (2) Machine learning and/or statistical modeling; (3) Data visualization; (4) A high-level programming language; and (5) Distributed computing.
