UI Health is seeking two Medical Insurance Managers to join our Hospital Billing (HB) Revenue Cycle team using the EPIC platform. One of the positions will manage HB Managed Care billing, collections and related processes and the other position will manage HB Medicare billing and related processes. The roles will be accountable for related operations, supervise staff responsible for billing claims, routing upstream issues, and resolving denials to ensure accurate and timely collections. To be successful in this role, Managers are required to have in-depth knowledge of related billing, compliance, and various requirements for the applicable position for which they are applying.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Bill all Medicare primary/secondary either electronically or hard copy. The types of accounts which may include outpatient, inpatient, DME and IME claims.
Bill all Managed Care, Commercial, Medicare Managed Care and other financial classes, including primary/secondary either via electronically or hard copy. The types of accounts will include outpatient, inpatient, and IME claims.
Supervision - Monitors staff activity and coaches improvements to staff knowledge and process adherence. Conduct all performance reviews and provide feedback to employees. Work with employees to address and performance issues and escalate any issues to Patient Accounting Director.
Performance Goals - Meets or exceeds established standards for metrics specific to assigned Accounts Receivable inventory.
Compliance - Maintains the highest standards of compliance within all work.
Communication - Communicating internally between teams and externally between payers or vendors with a high-level of clarity and specificity for efficient communication.
Ongoing Training- Ongoing training for process changes and overall professional development.
Medicare Payer Systems - Navigate and understand Medicare-specific systems such as IMPACT.
Denial Resolution - Identify root-cause denial causes to fix issues and collect insurance Accounts Receivable.
Workqueue Resolution - Resolve items from workqueues at the expected industry rates and monitoring overall volume for escalation.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required:


Any one or combination totaling six (6) years (72 months), from the categories below:
