We are seeking a dedicated Governance Coordinator to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves providing comprehensive support to our Governance department, with a focus on organizational efficiency, confidentiality, and excellent communication skills. This is an exciting contract-to-hire employment opportunity in the telecom industry.

Responsibilities:

- Provide comprehensive support for various governance entities, including the Board of Trustees, Executive Committee, and General Assembly.

- Manage logistical preparations and provide support for annual meetings and other governance-related activities.

- Handle administrative responsibilities for various meetings, including scheduling, compiling information, drafting minutes, and providing logistical information to Board members.

- Oversee the Board of Trustees orientation process and other leadership development opportunities.

- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and other communications for department and committee activities.

- Oversee volunteer committee appointment process, including managing applications and maintaining database integrity.

- Administer all aspects of the elections, including staffing the Nominating Committee and coordinating election administration.

- Maintain and update department-related areas of the website, database, and leadership calendar.

- Assist in the development of the annual departmental budget.

- Respond to member inquiries, correspondence, and requests for information.

Skills:

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word

- Experience in answering inbound and outbound calls

- Strong customer service and data entry skills

- Ability to schedule appointments and manage client communications

- Knowledge of data governance and logistics coordination.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Governance Coordinator or similar role for a minimum of one year

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

- Ability to manage inbound and outbound calls effectively

- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate with clients efficiently

- Proven experience in data entry and data governance

- Ability to handle email correspondence professionally

- Experience in scheduling appointments and coordinating logistics

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

- Ability to multitask and prioritize work

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
